CALL TO ACTION
(Please enter a valid e-mail address)

We the undersigned-

Respectfully ask that the Land Use Commission, State of Hawaii:

• Hold its next hearing in the Ko'olauloa/North Shore area of Oahu.
• Order Kuilima Development Company to show cause.
• Return the 236 acres of Turtle Bay Resort property reclassified to Urban District in 1986, to its original Agricultural classification.

Ask that the Honolulu City Council, Mayor and Department of Permitting and Planning:

• Cease granting permits to a developer who is being foreclosed upon and is part of a pending lawsuit.
• Take action to ensure passage of Resolutions 08-192 and 08-193.
• Respect the known Iwi (Hawaiian burials) on Turtle Bay property and recognize the importance of the developer’s 2nd archaeological survey.
• Pressure the resort's developer to meet with community members and drastically change the scope and size of the proposed expansion at Turtle Bay.

Respectfully ask that the Governor's Turtle Bay Advisory Working Group:

• Request that the City and County of Honolulu cease the issuance of subdivision permits.
• Continue to seek solutions for Turtle Bay Resort and see that the vision of economic viability and preservation in Ko'olauloa/North Shore is achieved.

Anyone driving the roads of Oahu sees the 'Keep the Country COUNTRY' bumper stickers and T-Shirts, understands that the communities of Ko'olualoa and the North Shore do not want the proposed resort expansion. While all the different aspects of the dilemma at Turtle Bay are inexorably linked and incredibly complex, one thing is clear: whether appointed or elected, each member of the city, county and state government has an obligation to what is right, what is pono.

Preserve undeveloped land for the people of Hawai'i.
